Today I gave a comprehensive sheet of everything that we have done with multiplying fractions. I tried to get to each student to make sure that they are doing it correctly. I had them take them home if there were mistakes to make the corrections. I will be giving them a real test when I am sure that they have "gotten" it.
Friday February 19 I sent home all the homework sheets with students to make corrections and bring back. All students will receive full value for these if all corrections are made and returned to me by Monday.
We started Dividing fractions today.
Have a look at the introduction to make sure that you are familiar with how to do it.

Complete the following work sheet including the last question. The last question is asking you to look at your quotients and see if you can make a statement about larger whole numbers divided by smaller or largers fractions.

Today we worked on dividing fractions. Students were given a work sheet to work on in class and correct. The back side of the sheet (dividing whole numbers by fractions) is to be completed for homework as well as three questions from the text book. All three files can be found below.
Extra Practice Dividing Mixed Numbers
ALWAYS change to improper fractions first, then rewrite the question multiplying by the reciprocal of the divisor (flip the second fraction and multiply) Always look to simplify first.
